Thursday, 10 December 2009 14:32 by go*

Finally, after testing in the real world for several months, BEgallery is ready for download.

BEgallery is a gallery extension (duh) for Blogengine.net 1.4 and up. It integrates the excellent Highslide JS thumbnail viewer, by Torstein Hønsi, seamless in Blogengine.net.

For all the info and download of the extension open the BEgallery extension for BlogEngine.net page.

To see what the extension can do, check this example.

BEgallery 1.0 is born

Monday, 20 July 2009 10:21 by go*

Frustrated by the gallery solutions available for BlogEngine.net I decided to develop one of my own. Most of the project available are crap, especially on the presentation side and lots of other project died on the way.

I started programming on Saturday and I’m pleased to say the 1.0 version is almost ready for testing. (finished the whole project in less than two days, that’s a new record for me Laughing)

When the project is tested and production ready I will publish the source so you can use it in your own blog (non commercial only). The extension shows thumbnails in the post, which can be clicked to view a larger version. A popup (with the use of the latest AJAX technology) is shown. The project’s main features are:

  • Integrated Highslide JS thumbnail viewer by Torstein Hønsi, the best around!
  • Slideshow integrated;
  • Image and thumbnail sizes are fully configurable, the program resizes the images automatically on upload;
  • Two skins available (white and dark skin);
  • Gallery’s are fully manageable via the admin interface. Create, edit and delete on multiple gallery’s;
  • Acts as an extension for Blog Engine 1.4 and up.
  • And now .. see it at work!

    AviaMagazine Breaking News

    Monday, 29 June 2009 15:32 by go*

    Since the beginning of this year, news on AviaMagazine was running slow. We simply lacked the time to update the news more frequently. Well, finally I had some time to build a definite solution for the problem. I’m now completing the new build homepage which features automatic news feed integration provided  by Aviationweek.com. New AJAX techniques were used to get the feed data asynchronously. The new homepage of which you see a small peak on the right will be online shortly.
